View Full Version : [SOLVED] 12.O4 LTS Upgrade not showing up

Until recently the 12.04 upgrade was showing up in upgrade manager. Now that I want to do it it isn't showing up. I have installed everything available to date. How can I get the upgrade?

What release are you running right now?

If 10.04lts the 12.04lts comes out in July best to wait till then if you're running 10.04, it should show up when it is released.

Some say to wait until 12.04.1 is released in july
The only big issue to date is that for some video cards there are problems with the closed-source drivers.
The open source work well but 3-d desktop may not work until the closed-source drivers are fixed.

BTW back up all important data before you go forward, things do go wrong with release upgrades.

I successfully downloaded the 12.04 LTS yesterday by using the terminal command "sudo do-release-upgrade. I found it in some old notes. Apparently the LTS is available right now.

If you are referring to wilee, yes the 12.04 LTS has been released since April 26th. What he meant to say, and made a typo, is that if you are running 10.04 LTS the upgrade to the next LTS doesn't show until the 12.04.1 is released, which will be in July.

From LTS to LTS it seems it waits until the first .1 is released.

What are you talking about exactly? What is there?

We know 12.04 LTS is released. What we are trying to point out is that IF you are running 10.04 LTS the upgrade to 12.04 LTS will be available in Update Manager after 12.04.1 LTS is released. In July.
