Under previous versions of Ubuntu, Evolution and Thunderbird both had a behavior where after I clicked on a link in an email, the affected app, usually Firefox, would appear on top and show me the result. Under Precise I have to manually click on Firefox to see what the link is pointing at.

Does Precise have a way to revert to this old behavior?

I mainly use Xubuntu, but while playing with Ubuntu it is a simple feature to show the open application. You can turn this off in the desktop settings last time I checked.

Thank you for the Reply!

I tried your suggestion. What it did for me was hide the selection of apps on the left side of the desktop. With System Settings hidden, I now had no way of reversing the change.

Somehow, who knows how, I got the apps to re-appear on the left side of the desktop and change things back. I suppose it was 20 minutes of terror well spent.
