Hi!
I downloaded and burned a CD with the iso of 12.04. When I boot with it, I get to the screen that asks for language and then presents me with the options to do a live boot, install, check disk for errors, and a few other options as well as options for F1-F6. Regardless of if I choose live boot or install, it goes to a blank screen with a blinking cursor for a few seconds, then restarts and starts booting again. I encountered the black screen with the cursor restart problem with a USB mount, although with USB I never reached the Ubuntu options screen described earlier.
I have a Dell Dimension 4700 with Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHZ, 2.0GB RAM, an Nvida 8400GS 256MB.
Please help, I used Red Hat back in the 90s and early 2000s and miss it, really want to rejoin the community.
Thanks

you might need to boot with option(s), first try with noacpi, or nomodeset
