Wheres the best place/way to learn C? I want to - eventually - be able to contribute in some way to linux projects.

I already program Visual Basics but I'm fed up of programming exclusively for Windows.

I can recommend the "C: How to Program" book by Deitel. Make sure you do the exercises.
