Xubuntu 12.04 installation problems.

I downloaded the Xubuntu 12.04 iso. I checked the hash, it was correct, excepting the fact that when I start up from thumb drive, it won't work. The screen keeps blinking the top and bottom bars, and the pointer sometimes shows, but it won't click on anything, it was like that for nearly fifteen minutes, and nothing happened. It wouldn't install or anything. What could be the cause, and what is the solution?:confused:

try using the nomodeset kernel boot option from grub

If that doesn't work try the alternate install disc. It provides a text based installer instead of a graphical installer.

I always use the alternate images.
