All -

Somehow I lost my keypad keys. And I can't get them back by pressing Numlock. In fact, numlock does nothing! This is after my upgrade to 12.04. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Check in the mouse settings and make sure that "Pointer can be controlled using keyboard" is unchecked. I had the same problem and this fixed it.

I am having the same problem, however I can't seem to find the option to disable the keypad to move the mouse. I went mouse settings but the option was not there. Any suggestions?

Ok, I figured it out the settings are under universal access under the system setting menu. I turned it off and my keypad works fine now. I hope this helps others.

Yeah, it's in an odd place: Universal Access > Typing > Screen Keyboard (Turn OFF)
