I've just installed 12.04 on a Dell Vostro 3550. This is the first Ubuntu install on this machine, but wireless has been working fine with Windows.

Settings shows that Airplane mode is ON, and it doesn't seem to stay OFF when I turn it off. But maybe that's just showing the OR of wireless settings

rfkill list shows that WiFi is hard blocked.

I don't have a dedicated key for WiFi. When I press the function key, the WiFi starts and I can use it.

Is it possible to enable WiFi from boot?

TIA!
