hello everybody, i have googled about the difference between the Ubuntu CD and DVD.
I know that the two format have a size difference, but ubuntu dvd consist of larger size.
Few searches on internet say that dvd has extra language packs only nothing else. Pls tell me what does this dvd contains.

I need to download the .iso but due to low internet speed, i had this question. If dvd contains more software apps, i will go for DVD.

Pls direct me.

Thank You.

I downloaded the ISO and was told by my iso-recorder when I went to put it on CD that it was a DVD. Do you know where the CD image is?

My experience is that the CD-image (find at http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop) do not have all the third party codecs and such. I recommend getting the CD-image and then install the restricted part at the software center.

Unless you're going to be using it on systems that doesn't have internet, best using the cd as the dvd installs the languages and everything else even if you don't need 'em.
