Hey all,

I'm having a hard time installing Ubuntu 12.04 on my desktop. Using an USB install medium I can boot up to the Installer boot menu, but this is where the problems begin.

-Upon selecting 'boot from this USB', I end up facing a black screen with my cursor in it.

-Upon selecting 'Install Ubuntu on a hard disk' I'm able to get to the install screen, but then my mouse slows down and I can't click anything. The installer just doesn't seem to respond...

There seems to be nothing wrong with the Live USB, since it works fine on my netbook AND even on my Macbook! Checked it for errors and the MD5 checksum seems to be OK.

Would greatly appreciate any help, since I really love the new Ubuntu on my netbook!

try disabling all the cores and use only one core by forcing the BIOS, i did the same and working for me right now. installation is in progress, will let you know the success of the installation shortly.

so far so good.
