OK....topic switch here.....same theme. What thoughts does the word Grandmother provoke? Or what do you associate with the word?

My grandmother worked in the cosmetic section of a department store. Every time I smell lilacs or drift by that section I think of her. Funny how memories work.
Thanksgiving works the same way. We would all gather at my grandparent's house. There had to have been over 60 of us in their little house. Good times.

My best penfriends. I came to NZ as a young kid and my grandparents all lived back in the UK. I wrote to them regularly as long as they were alive.

I'm expecting to become a grandmother myself in a few weeks. I hope it doesn't mean that I become a mothball, slow and annoying, bossy or technologically challenged. :)

What is that special bond with Grandmothers?

I don't know about others, but as with my parents to our children and my wife and myself to our two Grand children it is unconditional love. I experienced the same with my Grandparents.
