OK - I am now finding 12.04 unstable in the specific area of dual head....
I think I am very close to having it working, can get mirrored dual head, but as soon as I try to move away form that tend to pop up error dialogues like the one below...
GDBus.Error:org.gtk.GDBus.UnmappedGError.Quark._gn ome_2drr_2derror_2dquark.Code3: requested position/size for CRTC 64 is outside the allowed limit: position=(1024, 0), size=(1024, 768), maximum=(1360, 1360)
Now both screens are NOT identical, but they supported dual head in 11.04 fine and they are mirroring OK sometimes, until they break like that.....
I am aware there is an xorg file or something like that if memory serves and I'm thinking to go edit it - but would like a little help in this area and feedback if this is an area that may just be "magically fixed" by update cycle if I exercise my patience and await dual head in the updates feed.
