Every time I do a major upgrade the performance of my machine drops by 15 to 30%. Each time I eventually end up having to install the new version from scratch in order to get performance back.
Does someone have any suggestions what to look for that might be good candidates for the slowdown?
Also it seems like each new version has different shutdown woes .. with 11.10 its that the networking does not always close out and hence the shutdown hangs .. any known things in 12.04?
