After installing 12.04 precise (64-bit desktop, regular ubuntu) I noticed some applications failing with "distribution errors". Hapenned to me before but now I got it with apps that were updated for precise already, which is weird.

So I did some checks, this is what I got:

>:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu quantal (development branch)
Release: 12.10
Codename: quantal

>:~$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu quantal (development branch) \n \l

system-monitor also reports it's quantal. I did a clean install but kept my home directory (which I have since 10.10). I downloaded the ISO from the main page. /etc/apt/sources.list reports all entries with precise, so I think the installation was done correctly for 12.04. Now is there a way to correct my version settings so that applications that rely on this will start working again?
