myunity 3.1.3
fresh install of ubuntu 12.04 final release
I want the unity launcher to be transparent.

myunity has a 0-100% slider for transparency. It does increase and decrease translucency but at 100% is far from transparent.

My wallpaper is just solid black and the launcher is grey.

Any ideas?

Can anyone report using this feature successful or not? I've searched the bug reports on the launchpad and don't see anyone having reported it.

I'd like to know if this is common.

thanks

you could search back thru here

oh so it's the launcher itself

minor workaround
I switched to a black wallpaper (from solid black color) and for some reason it went black (and the slider has no effect (visible effect))

So it looks transparent in that it is black on black.

no idea why wallpaper works differently than solid color but it does.
