in older versions of ubuntu it was right-click on desktop -> change desktop background -> font -> and here you could change the anti-aliasing and subpixel settings. my screen is a little blurry and changing it to 'best contrast' always fixed it, but now i don't know where the setting is. appreciate if someone could point me to the right place. thanks.

This function has moved to ubuntu-tweak-tools, available in the software center
