Upgrade frozen at 99%

I am upgrading from 11.04 to 12.04 and it took 7 hours to download - through the terminal because if kept getting an error message using update manager a and now I've got to 99% of it downloaded and it has frozen. I'm not very technical, what should I do now? Have it lost everything that I didn't back up? Please help! My computer is a Dell Expiron, only a year old, I'm afraid I don't have any more specs than that.

Unfortunately, it seems as though it might have failed at the last stages of the upgrade.
