Hi

I run Xubu 10.04 LTS on my HP Compaq NX6325 and wanted to try 12.04. Rather than go for the upgrade I figured I would try it out from a live CD first. I'm glad I did! 12.04 doesn't boot on this machine. It doesn't show a menu (like 10.04 used to) to select language/keyboard options - it just locks up the PC with the hard disk light permanently on and the display shown in the attachment. There is no mouse and pressing keys has no effect, the only option is to power off.

The machine has 1GB RAM, btw, which should be enough. I am unable to verify what the downloaded ISO MD5 should be - but I did try two downloads. Both have an MD5 sum as shown:
52fddd81e75bb421a5435a42ca9ec6df xubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso
In the absence of an on-line MD5 I can only presume that this is correct. Both the ISOs I downloaded were using torrent.
