hi, i have very little experience with linux and am experiencing some difficulties.
I want to use ubuntu 11.10 and 10.10 on my own system & my housemate's, respectively.
my housemate's pc won't boot from anything other than main hdd, no amount of bios customisation will help so i can't use a live cd or usb, but need to get ubuntu on there some how.
i have already used unetbootin-windows-568 to install ubuntu 11.10 to his main C: drive alongside windows giving him a dual-boot, but it runs painfully slow so would like to try 10.10 instead. i installed 11.10 as hdmedia which may have caused issues and have read that installing it on it's own partition would help, but unetbootin would only allow installation to C:
what are my options with his system?
as for my own, i can boot to the live usb for testing, i'd just like to know which filesystem would be best should i install it to a separate partition.
Thanks for the help
Regards
