I presently have 11.10 with DNSMasq installed. 12.04 comes with DNSMasq(?). I plan to just upgrade for now with a clean install next weekend. Did I read somewhere that the "caching" part of DnsMasq wasn't available in 12.04?

If you are using ubuntu-server DO NOT UPGRADE. I'm screwed right now because networkmanager isn't on ubuntu-server yet dnsmasq still doesn't work....

If you are using any other ubuntu dist like desktop, dnsmasq is built into networkmanager but it doesn't support caching.

To use your own version, that supports caching, follow http://bsdevil.cba.pl/?p=520
