Hi, I installed some upgrades to my Ubuntu 11.10 (VGA: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650). Everything was fine until I started it again and my Unity was gone. Instead of it there was the old Gnome2. So I logged out and tried to choose Unity in log screen. But there was only to choose Gnome2 and Gnome2 (no effects). So here is the question. What shall I do to restore Unity options? Thanks Radim

Gnome2? Don't you mean Ubuntu Classic?

You can try the stuff in the link -- it worked for me when I messed with CCSM settings and lost the Unity desktop:
