Hello Friends,

I am a newbie to Linux. I tried to use UBUNTU 10.10 from a Live CD in Trial Mode .

Good Experience except ONE problem--- It cant recognise the Internet connection.

Here's my system details for ur ready refernce:

1. Parent OS- Widows Vista Home Premium (SP-2).

2. Internet Connection- BroadBand (wired).

3. Connection-specific DNS Suffix:

Description: Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller

DHCP Enabled: No

Pls suggest a way-out.

If there is no DHCP you will have to set the IP, subnet mask, gateway and DNS servers manually.

But first of all, are you aware that 10.10 is no longer supported? If you can, get hold of a newer version.

To set the network information manually you can click the Network Manager icon on top right, and select Edit Connections. On the wired tab select the connection and click on Edit (I think).

That will allow you to enter the necessary information manually.
