I am preparing for a clean install of 12.04.

Can you explain what I am supposed to do about my Nvidea Geforce 7300 LE video card?

Do I really need to do anything if the install works, or am I missing out on the best of Ubuntu if I don't get proprietary drivers.

I'm not very savvy on Ubuntu, and have had to stick with the Win XP side of my dual boot system ever since a disastrous upgrade to 11.10. I'd like to get smart about this before the Saturday launch of 12.04 Thanks

To Do List After installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS aka Precise Pangolin:

I would use that guide, and enable whatever proprietary drivers are available and recommended by jockey-gtk like normally. If you have issues simply let us know, at least so we can know about them.

Just give the nVidia drivers a try from the "additional drivers" application found under System Settings.

more specifically - will systems with nvidia 7300 graphics be able to use ubuntu unity desktop due to this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nux/+bug/728745 which was reported over a year ago?
