I want to try Ubuntu 12.04 using my pendrive. I created the live pendrive with Ubuntu, and checked the correctness of md5. I used this ISO :
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/dvd/current/
After the bootstrap there is only a black screen, and I can see on the bottom left like a little gray box and if I try to push Esc button appear a gray box in the middle of the screen.
My laptop has Ati Radeon x700 Mobility and Intel M740 Centrino.
Help me please, I want to try it

Ubuntu 12.04 will be released on April 26, which is only 2 days away. I would recommend waiting until then and downloading the final release.

So now that we've waited for the Official Release, how does one deal with the black screen with the gray box? I consistently get it with the alternate- and server-amd64 images, as imaged to LiveUSB by 10.04.
I've even tried disabling graphic modes in the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file, but it doesn't seem to respect my changes.
Any suggestions?

Hi, now I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, I installed it without any problems. But starting from *ubuntu 12.10 I have the same problem, the blank screen with the flashing underline. Using the nomodeset parameter I get a 1024x768 screen resolution, but in a window and the remaining part of the monitor in black. The screen resolution is 1280x800.
Video card : Ati Mobility Radeon x700
How can I solve? Thanks
