I am a newbie...
I am installing Ubuntu (dual boot with Windows 7) on LVM.
Some questions:

Q1: Can I use system-config-lvm with Ubuntu?
Q2: Where can I get it? I can only find the RedHat one...
Can I use the CentOS, RedHat or ScientificLinux RPMs with Ubuntu?
A2: As per ubuntuupdates.org, system-config-lvm comes with the distribution.
Latest version: 1.1.15-1ubuntu1
Release: precise (12.04)
So I will assume that 11.10 also has a version in there...

A3: I am a little confused! I will install from alternate CD.
DO I have to install LVM2 first, and then system-config-lvm?
A3: NO, the LVM2 is a CLI fully backward compatible with LVM. System-config-lvm is a GUI to set up lvm, it does not have all the power of LVM2 but it does the basics.

Q4: Do all these stuff comes in the alternate distribution?

THanks in advance!
