Hi, i am having a ubuntu 11.10 32 bit dualbooted with a windows 7 64 bit.

can i just put an 64 bit ubuntu cd in my tray and then do a clean install over the ubuntu 32 partition or will that destroy my dualboot setup?

clarification.
i want to go from a Ubuntu 32/win7 setup to a ubuntu64/win7 setup without reinstalling my win7. is this possible?

Yes, but you will have to use the manual install method (Something Else) because ubuntu by default doesn't use existing partitions.

You will have to tell it which partitions to use for what, with selecting them and hitting the Change button.

The root partition to be used again as mount point /, and the swap for swap.
