I'm trying to reset my password in Generic Recovery mode but the screen stalls. I just get a blinking cursor after the initial information line comes up. Should this take FOREVER to load? Should I just do a total reinstall of Ubuntu? Save myself the trouble? I've also got a busybox problem whereas the solution to to edit the boot.cfg file didn't match what I actually saw there. I'm using Grub 1.99.

What does the gparted app and making partitions have to do with the Recovery Mode stalling? That's my problem here in search of a solution. I have already 3 partitions on the main drive, one of which was dedicated to the Ubuntu install. It's a dual boot and Windows, so far, has booted more or less correctly every time I go into the Grub to boot it that way.
