Hi All

I am installing Ubuntu 11.10 alternate amd64 on my Acer desktop PC. When installing, after I have entered my user information, the install only gets so far and then freezes up, with the caps and scroll lock lights flashing.
I have tested the Disk as per the options at the very start of setup, and that test tells me that the disk is OK. I have also checked the checksum of the downloaded .iso file and that also is a match, so I am at a loss as what is happening.

If I install 11.04, the setup runs without a hitch, and installs correctly.

The installs are on a clean, formatting HDD. The machine I am installing them on is an Acer Aspire m3200 with a 500Gb HDD, 4 Gb Ram, with a ATI Radeon HD3450 Graphics card. I have read online that installs with the ATI Radeon card could be problematic, so I remove the graphics card for the install and rely on the on-board ATI Radeon HD3200 video chip.

Please help!
Glenn.
