Newbie- can't install opera

I downloaded & opened the Opera tar.bz2 & a folder was extracted, but I can not seem to install it.
when i try using the terminal i get this:

E: Package 'opera' has no installation candidate

You can download a deb file from opera.
Instead of tar select the "default package" option in download page
