I have tried to get
Adobe Flash Player version 11.2.202.233
Your system: Linux 32-bit, Firefox
running many times. I can always download it, but when I click on the link runs on Adobe Flash I get the blank panel with a message to download the Adobe Flash player.
How can I get this Adobe Flash to run?

go to your software center search adobe flash for mozilla not showing the green check that shows its installed install it , if it is showing the green check uninstall and reinstall..
after this Reboot, when you back running go to the download manager click check to check for updates update everything showing if there is anything and reboot again then go see if flash is working ..
also not sure if you have or not I recommend installing chrome too..
Rule I use is this even if your not reminded anytime you down load or update anything always reboot this insures you are running the new current version of your system, files and programs..

BTW...(Sorry not to wait to your reply) I do have Google Chrome installed, how do I set it up as my default browser, so when I access the internet, I start with Google Chrome?
Thanks....Charlie

Go to System settings and default applications and change your Browser Default to what you wish. :)

I'm not quite there yet with the Google Chrome...I went to System Settings; highlighted the Web Browser; in the Default Component I checked the button in the following browser: & then I entered Google Chrome; & then I hit the apply green button. However, I still get the Ubuntu Firefox when I start up the browser.
On the Dash home the Google Chrome is there as a shortcut.
