Hellow,
I am facing problem while trying to send and receive data via XMPP port 5222 from a java application developed by me where there is an option to email directly using xmpp protocol. the same application works fine at my home where i use a different net connection. So it seems that this specific port is somehow blocked in my department network for which I am not allowed to send or receive data through that port. In my department the server is set up using ubuntu server 10.04 LTS. all other PC in my lab is under a local network and connected to internet via this ubuntu server. so whenever i try to email via XMPP port from these locally networked Pc's i cant. I have the server access. So can anyone please tell me how can i open that specific XMPP port in my server PC so that i can use the port from any of the PCs connected in LAN?
