hi everyone....

just built my first rig from the ground up and am trying to switch my monitors from mirror mode to single desktop on two monitors. i have catalyst installed and when searching through the forums tried some of the advice given there.

when i rebooted, the monitor running through hdmi glitches on the login screen and is then glitchy on the home screen, while the monitor running through dvi is fine. when i revert to mirror mode everything looks fine, except the hdmi monitor is still glitched at the login.

first time using ubuntu and would appreciate any help getting this to work.

thx!

specs:

mobo: asus m5a97
cpu: Phenom II
ram: 8 gigs g.skill ripjaws
video: asus hd 6770 1 gb
monitors: 2 asus 23" vh236

well...for some reason i was able to get this to work..after following the instructions for the nth time on the thread: [ubuntu] Ubuntu 11.10 no separate dual monitor option (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862451&highlight=dual+monitor) (http://ubuntuforums.org/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862451&highlight=dual+monitor) 2 (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862451&page=2&highlight=dual+monitor) 3 (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862451&page=3&highlight=dual+monitor) ... Last Page (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862451&page=4&highlight=dual+monitor)) :p

for some reason it just worked after trying a few times and the prompt for "do you wish to accept these changes" showed up in catalyst.

however monitor one is HDMI and has a black border around it. is full screen possible?

thx!
