So I was running Xubuntu 10.04 for a while. I wanted the latest version of a game, but after much research found that the OS probably didn't support it. So I decided to upgrade to a Xubuntu version that would support it. I found a code online that checked for a later version of Xubuntu, which resulted in 12.04. I decided to try it out. After about three hours of stuff going on, the upgrade finally completed.

I decided not to boot into Xubuntu because my dad wanted to do some things and only uses Windows (Xubuntu is installed on my external hard drive). I go to boot into Xubuntu today only for my monitor to tell me that the video settings were not supported and told me what settings to use: "Input Signal Out of Range. Change Settings to 1024 x 768 - 60Hz". But since I can not boot into Xubuntu, I can not change the settings.

I need help with this. What should I do?

I know it's only been four hours since I first posted this, but I have been working with people on two other sites trying to get this working. And if it helps at all, I have made two videos on this (ignore the audio in them):

I'd like to know how you handled this situation because this is the exact same issue I am facing now.

Why oh why do I try to do installs right before bedtime?
