I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 in my home Dell Vostro laptop that came with Windows 7 pre-installed. The purpose of this installation was to keep using Windows 7 for my everyday work and Ubuntu for some specialty applications that I am interested in developing. Because I share this machine with my children for school work I would prefer that the start-up screen where once chooses the OS' be more graphically friendly and that the first choice OS be Windows 7. For instance in my work laptop, I installed Ubuntu as an application to Windows Vista and the initial screen is reasonable "terminal" simple (no purple background)

Is there a way to customize the initial screen?

Regards,

Eduardo
