Hi, This may seem a very simple and stupid question, but I have won a VPS from heart internet.

I have set it up as a web server running:

Apache
MySQL
Postfix
Courier
Bind
Pure-FTP
ISP Config Control Pannel

So if anyone wants any web hosting give me a shout. But what I really wanted is some more ideas from people for other uses for the VPS, any suggestions?

Dan

Fortunately and Unfortunately the possibilities are endless. Personally I try a little bit of everything. Maybe you could post the specs on it and i could throw around some packages you might be interested in.

Hi,

The specs are:

RAM 1024MB
CPU 1 Core
HD 50GB
Link Speed 100MB
Unlimited Bandwith
OS Ubuntu Server 10.04

Its not a very high spec VPS, but its good enough to do most things.

I was also thinking about game servers, any suggestions?

Thanks

Most of my experience is only on my own personally servers. Running things like samba, media servers, torrents, games, proxies, voice communication, IRC, SFTP, and most importantly a general test bed to expand my Linux knowledge. I would also look into some web based service if you can find a good use for them. Website, Blog, Forums, etc.
