View Full Version : [ubuntu] Install on laptop with broken screen

I have already installed Ubuntu (desktop, not server) - latest version on my Dell laptop. The laptop has a broken screen so I plugged it into my Samsung LCD TV. The install worked fine and my 'fn + F8' got the output to redirect to the TV. After the install, it rebooted and now I can't get the output to redirect back to the LCD TV. The laptop broken LCD monitor is on - but being broken I can't see what it is looking for me to do.

I did tell it to auto-login during install so I expect it to log me in.

What screen appears immediately post install?

Why does my 'fn+F8' no longer redirect the output - is it at some early run-level that won't let me do this? Not sure what I am missing?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Chris
