I have read everything, i tried the following:

YUMI - added as unlisted iso: "Error reading Release file" but i'm sure it just means it does't detect the cd image
Unetbootin - as hd_media (oslt):mismatch
Universal USB installer
this guy's post (which seems to be the favorite of hand-washers): http://wh1sk3yj4ck.wordpress.com/2010/08/11/installing-ubuntu-alternate-10-04-from-a-usb-drive/
none of the methods from the official ubuntu installation page apply, so please don't send me there.
LinuxLive USB Creator
for all of them i tried cdrom-detect/try-usb=true
i have done my homework, believe me, nothing works.

What i need is an Expert Mode Alternate Install on a netbook, so no CD-ROM is available, can't get an USB one either.

I am not able to wait for the 12.04 LTS (will not adopt it until the .2 release anyway. but please don't get sidetracked and start a debate on this choice of mine.)
