Hi

I have recently downloaded the 12.04 Ubuntu which I am very happy with, however I would like to respin the cd with some updates and added applications. For example an update to virtualbox and flash player so I can once again have a bootable CD with everything I need.

I am aware that I could use a flash drive and I do have one spare but ultimately I could do with it being on a CD.

Does anyone have any help or advice on this method?

You can use UCK (Ubuntu Customization Kit) and customize an existing Ubuntu CD the way you like it using UCK's package manager.

sudo apt-get install uck
After that, you have to rewrite the .iso to a CD.

Updates to various apps and packages will happen often around this time so might be a bit of a pointless exercise ...
