only have guest account

I just installed ubuntu 12.04 and well it didnt ask me for username and password. i was wondering if someone could help me make one or something? any ideas at all?

Was this a standard installation of 12.04? If so, it was bizarre that it did not ask for user and password.

I would:


Check the ISO download is correct (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes).
Check that it burned correctly to the CD or USB from where you are installing (perhaps burn again?).
Try to install again even if the previous two steps are OK.

If you still get the same problem, post back here.
