View Full Version : [ubuntu] problems with applications

I've been having this problem since last night when I upgraded the kernal I'm using Ubuntu 11.10. The problem is Google Chrome and Chromium. won't usely open. When it does as soon as I do anything with it, it crashes. Firefox sometimes crashes for no reason. The error I get when I run Chrome in the terminial is 'Segmentation fault'. Other application crashes also. Exept wine apps. I use multible UIs I this happens on all KDE,Gnome,XFCE, and Unity. Also last night after the upgrade the panel(s), dash would disapear.

Thank you CodeManiac that fixed my problem. I hope Ubuntu fixes the Kernel so I can go back to running a new version.

A user has posted a kernel patch to address this problem, which is affecting many applications, not just Chrome/-ium:
