this document is written with notepad in windows and it is in Arabic language

How can I read it correctly in ubuntu 11.10?

Do you have an Arabic font installed?

not sure, the, but it may have something to do with language packs.

i see you are using english for your system, if you go into system settings and hit locale you may find a way to read the document.

or try libre office

btw i can't read anything other than english:p

Go to the Software Center or use Synaptic to search for fonts. It may take you a while, but you should be able to find an Arabic font.

In Kate >> Settings >> Fonts & Colors >> Font tab you should be able to find your font.

As far as right-to-left, I can't tell you. Maybe the font will take care of that on its own.

I solved the previous problem by opening the file with libre office then saving it with txt format

but I have know another Question

I want to put the scroll bar to the left of the document cos it cover the beginning of the sentences , how can I do that

I need to move scroll bar from right to left in gedit too .

lets see the entire image?

when there is a right scroll, you can usually pan left to right at bottom!

or use arrow keys, left/right ......
