Hi...Tried to install ubuntu twice, both with different HD's on my older AMD Athlon 900 mhz PC. After both installs, even the live CD will not boot. This is an asus a7m266 bios, which i can't seem to find anywhere. Am i wasting my time? I wld like to install and play around with it...

Doesn't sound CPU related but anyway, the minimum system requirements say 1GHz CPU.

Even if it works you are at the low end, very low.

Maybe Xubuntu or Lubuntu?

I would wipe the HDD and start over. You need to make sure you have the root partition at least 4 GiB.
