dual boot problem

hi there, totally new to ubuntu. ive just finished installing it on a partition on my c drive (dell laptop)

the thing is it booted straight back into xp, and now i cant access ubuntu. it seems i dont have a program called grub... or if i do, its not working. does anyone have any suggestions, please?

I formatted it as ext4 so the partition is invisible in windows
