Of course, it's only fitting that as soon as we post the announcement, our web site encounters problems with the database server ;-(

Our appologies go out to any and all of you that had trouble accessing the site throughout the day. The problems were fixed this afternoon and the site is fully functional.

kamnet, i'd like to make a suggestion for your site....

it took me a while to fin the section that contains the top level pages on your site....which bit? the bit that has "about us, contact us" etc etc.

i suggest you move this box upto the top of its coloumn...otherwise for same amount of time it takes to find out if your in california or china a user could click somewhere else.

lessen the amibiguity and your customers will feel that they are at a genuine e-commerce site. that isnt trying to hide its identity....

hope you dont take this the wrong way....just trying to provide contructive critism.

I apologize for the delay in my response.

Thanks for the suggestion. The idea behind placing product lookup boxes (Categories, by Manufacturer, Quick Find) was that visitors are first and foremost concerned with finding the product and then they will look to see if the site is worthy of ordering from.

We certainly do not try to hide our identity or location as we've even localized our domain name to .ca.

You do have a valid point and we'll consider ways to place the Information in a more prominent location.

Also, our desktop line up will be revamped over the next few days. Keep an eye out!

As promised, our Linux desktop line up has been revamped.

Here are some of the enhancements:

We have streamlined the selection by going from 15 or so systems down to 2 that are more customizable
We have added Kubuntu as an OS option
We have added the latest stable release of Ubuntu and Kubuntu (6.10 EdgyEft) as OS options


The high level of service and our pledge to support further development of this great OS, 5% of every system sold will be donated to the Ubuntu project, remain unchanged.
