video adapter not supported

I'm trying to install ubuntu 11.10 but it shows an error: video adapter is not supported and it won't load the system. What should I do?

When you get to the first screen of option 'Try Ubuntu' 'Install Ubuntu' etc, along the bottom there are a row of selections. Hit F6 and you should find the option:

nomodset

Choose it and continue with the install. If this still fails, repeat process but this time choose the option:

acpi=no
