Hello, I am running an old gateway P4 2.0GHz with 747MB Ram. The GFX is an intel integrated graphics 128mb of prefetchable vram. I am running lubuntu 11.10 on it and every thing runns smooth, programs open rather fast, it has great responsivness. BUT, when i drag a window around, it is VERY choppy, like a picture book, i dont see it drag across smoothly, it jumps across the screen. Also, youtube videos play the same way. Some play every 2 sec of vid, some every 5 sec, the audio plays along fine, but i only see a new frozen screen every 2-5 sec. Could it be just the driver not installed/incorrectly? Or do i just need to buy a cheep gfx card for this thing?
Also, by putting gnome apps such as banshee/libreoffice/thunderbird on an LXDE machine, will these programs affect my systems performence? or will they run sluggishly for any reason?
