Hi this is my first post, so i don't know if there are any on this same topic but this is the problem i get when i try and install ubuntu 11.10.
I have a net book aspire one with Win XP SP2 (in czech -.-)
I have currently used LiLi USB Creator to make my 1 tera HDD into a bootabke USB
I have booted it and it recoginses the HDD as a bootable image and boots
It loasts and the 4 dots come that look like . . . . (and they blink-ish)
then it comes up and says
Begin: Loading essential drivers...done.
Begin:Running/scripts/init-premount...done.
Begin: Mounting root file system ... Begin: running /scripts/-premount...
done.
done.
ata_id[393] : HDI0_GET_IDENTITY failed for '/devsdb':invalid argument
unmount: can't unmount /cdrom: Device or resource busy
Warning : Unable to find the persistence home medium
unmount: can't unmount /cdrom:device or resrouce busy
Warning: Impossible to include the casper-sn Snapshot
unmount: cant unmount /cdrom: device or resource busy
Warning: Impossible to include the home-sn Snapshot
done.
Begin: Creating debconf-commuicate fifo mechanism ... done.
Begin: Running /scripts/casper-bottom ... Begin:Moving mount points... ...done
.
Begin Adding live session user... ... _
And after i tried again and said something about trying to respawn trying to respawn...respawning too fast...
any adivce for me, not too savvy with techy stuff so a good explation will help like trying to explain to a grandma :)
Thanks alot
[Edit]
Tried installing from a normal USB and it get past the pervious session but i still left it up just in case if it is important for this next bit because i got the same results as stated before.
The list goes down with a "* Starting..." a specif path and followed by [OK]. I got one [fail] as far as i can see.
Then the last line says "*Stopped System V runlevel compatibility"
Does that mean my laptop cannot handle ubuntu but can run crappy windowns -.- ... say it aint so...
Again assistance is much appreciated
Thanks
