Can't Update via Synaptic

I need assistance; i recently tried to update kubuntu on my notebook using Synaptic Manager.

However, it was interrupted and now it just gives me the following error message:

'E: The package linux-image-2.6.35-32-generic needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.'

Please assist so that my system can restart updating. I am a first time user of Kubuntu...
