Hi
i tried to install java manually
i just ran the bin file of java that i downloaded
it extracted some files to a directory
& to some places into the system
but i didn't have java in my browser
so i deleted the directory
how to remove the other files it copied to other places in the system?

anyway after that i ran:
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-restricted-extras
to install java
& it didn't worked too
so - how to remove that too?

& how to install java on my usb stick from which i run xubuntu...?

This is the method (http://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/java) I use, hope it works for you as well as it has for so many.

Please give us 24 hours before you bump. We are here from all around the world and we do this voluntarily.

I am on my cell phone, so I can't add a link, but google the following terms. One of the first hits shdould be a great tutorial.

Edit: Well, sammiev, you got the jump on me again!
