Hello

I recently switched to Xubuntu from openSUSE, openSUSE has YAST2 configuration manager, in which there are many options available. Of course when I was installing Xubuntu I knew that I won't have this kind of tool available, so I would need to do more things manually, but I just wanted to make sure, that I have everything that there is to have in applications menu for configuration, because it feels kind of empty to me:

Almost all XFCE specific options are inside the "Settings Manager". Once you start it, you will have a bunch of additional categories.

What would you like to adjust in particular, we can tell you where to look.

For now I only needed to set mic volume, but I done this using mixer plugin, so for example, is it only way to configure something sound-related through gui?

And I was looking for system settings not xfce specific options.

There are other mixer GUIs available in the software center, you can search for mixer, but the plugin should be good enough for most needs.

I am not sure what else you want to configure? Firewall? Services? Some of these come with separate GUI tools that may not be installed by default.

Well, I just wanted to make sure that everything got installed, that's all.

At a glance, I can't point to anything missing. If you run into an issue, just post on the forum. If your system is working fine, then even if something didn't get installed, then you can install it later and we can help.

The best way to look at this is to look at the desktop and think for yourself "what do you like to see changed", basically "what would improve your experience". Then see if there is a way to do it.

Btw., from the looks of your screenshot @ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/100/conf2.png/, it looks like you have more than everything installed (including KDE :)). Perhaps that was something to look into, seeing how you've move to Xfce for a reason?.. Anyway, excuse teh bump pls, it was just a sharp pain in my retina. [/spam]

PS.

"Settings Manager"

If you come across this post, there are no Ubuntu 'System Settings' in Xubuntu?.. Like when looking for WiFi (drivers), like @ http://askubuntu.com/questions/191987/computer-isnt-sensing-wifi ?
