Hey all. Thanks for reading. I recently purchases a new laptop. A Toshiba Qosmio X775 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M Gpu with options video card. Core i5 processor. 6g's or ram with a 2.4g processor. its a 600g hard drive. Anyways. Everytime I try and install ubuntu 10.04 or linux mint or any unix based operating system really. It will do that thing where it shows the splash thing and says it will start in 7 seconds and counts down. Then it just goes to the code line and there is no graphical interface. I dont know if its my graphics card that is not supported or what. If that is the case is there anyway around that?
Thanks in advance for the help!!!

You might try something newer than Ubuntu 10.04 like Ubuntu 11.10 with newer computers, as their might be hardware etc. that are not supported.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Can you run Ubuntu from a live CD or flash drive? I always recomend that one tries that before attempting to install.
Also go ahead and google the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M card and you will get a wealth of information about your card.
